GRAND START TO 8TH BIFFES

In front of Vidhana Soudha and near to Vikasa Soudha, opposite High Court of Karnataka, it was magnificent launch of the 8th Bengaluru international film festival on Thursday evening.

As the Thali girl ravishing beauty Haripriya brought lamp on dais, Smt Jaya Bachchan, wife of Amitabh Bachchan Big B of Indian cinema lit the lamp for thunderous applause. The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister G Parameshwara, Housing minister Dr Ambarish, Opposition leader in Council Shankara Murthy,Top Hindi films director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Top Telugu actor Venkatesh, Dr Shivarajakumar, Dr Jayamala, Dr B Saroja Devi, KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu, SIFCC President HD Gangaraju and others accompanied the lighting of the lamp to kick start the 8th Bengaluru international film festival.

The inaugural event started 45 minutes late. It was with Ganesha Stuthi from Kumari Varija the talented anchors Shanker Prakash and Aparna conducted the show. The customary Naada Geethe was followed by Dr NS Channappa Gowda welcome speech, Information minister Roshan Baig, SV Rajendra Singh Babu KCA Chairman also addressed on this occasion.

Shobhana dance performance and 80 years of Kannada cinema glimpse was touching to watch. The souvenir of the 8th Bengaluru international film festival with a history of festival was released by director of Hindi cinema Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
